History of Isfahan
Being the capital of Iran during the Buyid (11th Century), Saljuqid (12th century) and Safavid (16th century) dynasties, Isfahan holds an incredible variety of unique historic monuments, just like an enormous, live Islamic Museum of architecture and design.
In addition to hosting historic monuments, it is also home to a great number of traditional handicrafts made in Iran, such as Mina-Kari (Metal Enameling), Qalamkar (Persian Calico), Qalam-Zani (Metal Engraving), Khatam (Persian Maquetry), Monabat (Persian Wood Carving) and Moarraq (Persian Wood Mosaic).
Furthermore, being historically a city-garden, it is still a green city, with many parks and a river, Zayandeh-Roud, flowing across the city.
So, as you may have guessed until now, Isfahan, one of the most beautiful cities in Iran and even the world, is a must see visit during your trip in Iran.
