Day 2

Tehran

On the second day of Royal Road Tour, we will visit the most important sights in Tehran: the Golestan Palace (the house of the government and the residence of a number Qajarid kings) , the National Museum of Iran (we visit the pre-Islamic section of the museum and get to know the history of Iran up to the Sassanian period) and the National Jewelry Museum of Iran (home to some of the most beautiful and precious Jewels in the world, such as the legendary "Sea of Light"). Day 3

Tehran - Hamedan (320km)

Today, we drive from Tehran to Hamedan, the spring capital of the Achaemenids. In Hamedan we will visit the Ancient Achaemenid Palace of Ecbatana, the Mausoleum of Esther and Mordecai (a very important Jewish sanctuary) and the Mausoleum of Avicenna (the world-famous doctor of the old world). Day 4

Hamedan - Kermanshah (190km)

On the fourth day, we drive from Hamedan to Kermanshah, a distance of about 190 km. In Kermanshah we visit Bisotoun ( including a statue of Hercules and a number the bas-reliefs, most importantly of Darius the Great which is known as the Rosetta stone of Iran) and, then, we go to the archeological park of Taq-e Bostan, to visit Sassanid bas-reliefs representing the investitures of Ardashir II (379-383) and Shapur III (383-388). Kermanshah - Ahvaz (500km)

On the fifth day, we drive from Kermanshah to Ahvaz, about 500 km. On the road, we will visit Susa (the winter capital of the Achaemenids), Tchoga Zanbil (an ancient ziggurat) and Shushtar (known for its Sassanid watermills and dams). Overnight stay in Ahvaz. Ahvaz Attractions and Sights

Day 6

Ahvaz - Shiraz (550km)

The sixth day of the Royal Road Tour will take us from from Ahvaz to Shiraz, a drive about 550 km. En route, we will visit Bishapour (the capital of Shapour(I), the Sassanian king). Overnight in Shiraz. Shiraz Attractions and Sights

Shiraz

In Shiraz, we explore such sights as Nasir-al Molk Mosque (also known as the Pink Mosque, famous for its sash windows and the colorful play of light in one of its rooms), Narenjestan Ghavam (a magnificent Qajarid house and garden), Khan Madrasa (a 16th century theological school), Eram Garden (a grand garden with a long history, now the botanical garden and museum of Shiraz University) and Tomb of Hafez (the 14th century legendary poet of Iran, famous for his mystical and critical poems).. Overnight stay in Shiraz.

Day 8

Shiraz- Persepolis- Naqsh-e Rustam- Shiraz (130 km)

On the eighth day, we drive to Persepolis (the ceremonial capital of the Achamenid empire) and Necropolis (or Naqsh-e Rustam, housing the rock tombs of Achaemind emperors and Sassanian stone-reliefs.) Then, we drive back to Shiraz. Overnight stay in Shiraz.

Shiraz - Kerman (560 km)

Today, we drive from Shiraz to Kerman, about 560 km. En route, we visit Maharlou and Bakhtegan salt lakes and also a Sassanian place, known as "Kakh-e Sassani," in Sarvestan. Overnight stay in Kerman. Kerman Attractions and Sights

Day 10

Kerman- Mahan-Kerman (80km)

On this day, we drive from Kerman to Mahan for visiting Shahzadeh Garden and Shah Nematolah Vali Mausoleum (a famous Iranian mystic and poet). Then, we drive back to Kerman where we visit the 17th century Ganjali khan complex (including a swuare, a bathroom, and a caravanserai). After a short walk in vakil Bazaar, we visit Jameh Mosque of Kerman and also Moayedi Ice House (a Safavid water and ice reservoir). Overnight stay in Kerman.

Day 11

Kerman- Yazd (360km)

Today, we would be on the road to Yazd, On our way, we stop to visit the only round caravanserai of Iran, Zeinoldin. Then, we go to Cham , a Zoroastrien village near Yazd. Overnight in Yazd. Yazd Attractions and Sights

Day 12

Yazd

In Yazd, we first visit the Towers of silence (the old graveyard of Zoroastrians) and the Zoroastrian Fire Temple of Yazd (the most important fire temple in Iran). After that, we go to Amir Chakhmaq square (including a mosque, a bazaar and a water cistern) built in the 15th century. Then, we will visit the magnificent Jame Mosque of Yazd and have a stroll in the world's largest adobe structure, Fahadan Neighborhood (a world heritage site). Finally, we finish the day by watching a live performance in an Zourkhaneh (House of Strength), and will get to know a unique sport exercised from ancient times in Iran. Overnight stay in Yazd.

Yazd- Meibod- Naein- Isfahan (360km)

On the thirteenth day, we drive from Yazd to Isfahan. En route, we visit the Jame mosque of Naein (a fine example of the early Islamic mosques in Iran). Overnight stay in Isfahan. Isfahan Attractions and Sights

Isfahan

Today, we visit the world-renown Naqshe-jahan square (a UNESCO Heritage Site) and the monuments around it, including: Qeysarieh Gate, Jameh Abbasi Mosque, Sheikh Lotfollah Mosque, and Ali Qapou palace. Then, we spend some time in Chehel-Sotoun Palace (a fine example of world-renown Persian gardens and a magnificent reception hall). Overnight in Esfahan.

Day 15

Isfahan

Our next day in Isfahan includes visitin Jameh Atiq Mosque (a world heritage site). Then, we go to Jolfa quarter and visit the Vank cathedral. Then, we attend the Music Museum of Isfahan, where you would have the chance to participate in a fantastic live Iranian classical music performance. Finally, we will visit the two historical bridges of Isfahan, Si-o-Se Pol and Khajou. Overnight in Isfahan.

Day 16

Isfahan- Natanz- Kashan - Airport(400 km)

On the last day of our Royal Road Tour, we first drive to Natanz to visit its grand Jame Mosque. Then, we continue to Kashan. In Kashan, we visit the TabaTabaei Traditional House (a prime example of traditional Iranian houses in 19th century) and Fin garden. At the end of the day, we drive to the IKIA Airport to fly back home . Kashan Attractions and Sights
